Top 25 Weekly Pool

Description: The Top 25 Weekly Pool will allow participants to raise the stakes of the original Top 25 Weekly Challenge contest by contributing to the cash prize pool which will be used for the prize payouts for the contest. Like the Top 25 Weekly Challenge, participants will predict winners from ten selected games each week that have at least one team from the current AP Top 25 Poll.  The contest will be identical the Top 25 Weekly Challenge, the only difference is the entry fee and higher payout.

Entry Fee: 10,000 CFBPoints or $10. To buy points, log in and click "Buy Points" from the user menu at the top right of the site. You can buy enough points for up to 20 plays at a time and your points will never expire.

Entry Fee Breakdown: Of the $10 per participant entry fee, $8.50 will go into the contest's cash prize pool.  Of the remaining $1.50, 59 cents will go to PayPal for their transaction fees and 91 cents will go back into the site for other contests, future contests, site features, content and hosting fees.  100%(minus the transaction fee) of the money contributed to the pool each week will go back into this contest(90%) or the site(10%).  That means that, by participating, you are helping to keep the site running, growing and adding new contests, content and features while keeping all other aspects of the site completely free.  And, of course, you will have a chance to win a significant amount more than what you could only playing other contests.

How To Play: Click the NCAA football logo above to make your entry.  You must be logged in and have at least 10,000 CFBPoints in your account in order to access this contest. If you don't have enough points you can either buy more points through the Buy Points link on the user menu at the top of the page or you can earn points through various actions on the site.  Once you access the entry page it will look identical to the Top 25 Weekly Challenge of the current week and you just need to follow the on-screen instructions.  Those instructions are as follows.  Select which team you think will win each game by selecting the option button next to that team.  Enter in a Confidence Value, from 1-10, in the box between each of the teams. This value represents how confident you are that the team you picked will win. Each number may only be used once so you are basically ranking each pick from your most to least confident. 10=most confident. 1=least confident. For the 10th and final game, enter a margin of victory for your winner of the game.

Each participant may submit up to one entry per contest and only two participants per IP address are permitted. Your latest entry will always overwrite any previous entry.

Scoring: Scoring for each contest will be based on your win-loss record for that week of games.  The games you pick correctly will add the confidence points you assigned to them.  Any games picked incorrectly will forfeit assigned confidence points for that game.  Participants will be ranked by record then by confidence points.  For instance, if participant A finishes 9-1(48 points), participant B finishes 8-2(51 points) and participant C finishes 8-2(52 points), the final standings would go participant A, C then B.  Unlike the Top 25 Weekly Challenge, your record and points will not accumulate throughout the season, but instead, a MoneyList will be tracked so you can follow the top earners throughout the season.  The MoneyList will be located under Standings > MoneyList on the main menu following Week 1.

Deadline to Play: Every Saturday at Noon ET.  There will be one or two exceptions to this. One exception will be on Thanksgiving weekend where the deadline will be on Thursday. The exact time will be announced here and in the forums.  There could be a second exception the last weekend of the regular season so check here and in the forums for details that week. The entry form will lock and become inaccessible at exactly 12PM ET so be sure to make your picks before that time or you will not be able to play that week.

Prizes: The top five participants of each weekly contest will be payed a percentage of the cash prize pool.  The winner will receive 50%, second place 20%, third place 15%, fourth place 10% and fifth place 5%.  So, for example, if there are thirty entrants the total cash prize pool after deductions would total $255.  The winner would receive $127.50, second $51, third $38.25, fourth $25.50 and fifth would receive $12.75.  The more people entered, the higher the payouts. Note: A minimum of five participants are needed for the contest to run.  If there are more than five but less than ten entrants, only the top three will receive a percentage of the cash prize pool where the winner would receive 60%, second place 30% and third 10%.

Any ties will split cash prizes between the winners. All cash prizes will be sent via PayPal to the email address registered on this site. If you do not have a PayPal account, you will receive an email upon winning a contest, with easy instructions for creating a PayPal account.
